Samettijalka

Sanskin ansiosta opin yhä enemmän luonnonväreillä värjäämisestä. Ihastuin jo viime kesänä harmaisiin, ruskehtaviin ja vähän vihertäviin lankoihin jotka olivat värjätty samettijalan (tapinella atrotomontosa) väriaineella.

Yllä näyte tämän syksyn värjäyksestä. Lämmin ruskea joka kudottuna on hienostuneen meleerattu. Tätä sävyä oli tasan kaksi vyhtiä. Näiden lankojen ihmeellisyys onkin niiden ainutlaatuisuudessa. Sienet ovat kerätty mökkini metsästä.

Langasta syntyi pipo. Lanka on riittoisaa ja riittää toiseenkin. Luomisen iloa yhdistettynä kesän muistoihin! Kiitos Sanski!

Different roads of colour and beauty comes together on my journey!

While visiting Kuwait this spring my daughter Jessica and I went to the textile souk. A world of colours! Bought some presents for my friend and artist Cassandra Wainhouse and also some things for my self ( that I at that time really did not know how to use.......)
Italy and specially Tuscany is one of my favourite spots in the world. High quality merinowool is made there as so many other wonderful things.
In summertime there is no place like Finland and its nature that has given colours to these Italian yarns
. Talented artisan Sanski has dyed the yarns in Puumala, Finland.
And I got the inspiration to knit! A wonderful combination of spots in the world, dear to me.......in these knits!

Taitava Leila

Ystäväni Leila on uskomattoman taitava käsistään.

UPEAT!

James and Max in indigo and henna.

As I have told before the very thin italian merinowool is my absolut favourite but I had to try out the thicker quality as well..

This yarn is warm and very suitable for winteruse.
The colours this time are very classical: indigo and henna.

While knitting this scarf I was thinking of my son in law photographer James Stokes in Amsterdam. I am glad that he liked it!

And so does my grandson Max!

Wristwarmers with an oriental touch!

After doing a lot of knitting this autamn and realizing that it has taken kilometers of yarn...........I decided to do something smaller also.  In my jumper ca 1398 meters of merino was used! Normally I do not like to make small creations but this one is quite cute I think.............The chance is big that you will see more of them. Also for the pleasure of family and friends!
All possible colours are avalable!
