Winter is here with cold Januarytemperatures....Merinowool warms me up and brings summer to my mind. These yarns are handdyed by Sanski with muschrooms and plants from Puumala.
The green has been dyed with muschroom and indigo. Every 50 gr is unique.
Melinda is wearing a handknitted scarf. The yarn is finest Italian merinowool dyed in Finland with naturecolours. Melinda is an interior designer working in Amsterdam.

She likes to work with nature materials and she is often inspired by the nature in Finland where she was born.
Bodil is my friend for around 25 years now......
I know her as a successful businesslady......an enginer working in the IT.
She is also very sporty and loves the extreme.....We have been travelling together as far as you can get from Finland and sailed together in storms and sunshine.
She surprised me a couple of years ago by telling me that she was knitting. Really surprised me because I could not imagine her sitting on one place that long.....Or maybe she is one of those who knits while she is jogging - I newer asked.
Anyway, she is making wonderful things and she is very good at knitting also. Now we are sharing also this journey - journey of colours.
This is her first work that she made of italian merinowool dyed by Sanski.
The last months I have been knitting quite a lot because of yarns that I found in absolutly adorable colours. In some works I used applications from the textilesouk in Kuwait.
I wanted more of the applications and thanks to Caroline Ericson living in Kuwait City it was possible for me to order some more. And off she went to the textilesouk!
She could not find what I wanted because they where SO LAST SEASON......!
Caroline was brave enough to come up with new ideas and sent me some indian silk. Actually it looks very good. Merinowool handdyed with henna this time and applications from Kuwait. Thanks Caroline! The Christmasparty can begin with warm hands and some Bling!

Wonderful colours in merinowoolyarn. Jumper and other products made of dog hair! From Sanskis own Tibetian mastiff.
Sanskin ansiosta opin yhä enemmän luonnonväreillä värjäämisestä. Ihastuin jo viime kesänä harmaisiin, ruskehtaviin ja vähän vihertäviin lankoihin jotka olivat värjätty samettijalan (tapinella atrotomontosa) väriaineella.
Yllä näyte tämän syksyn värjäyksestä. Lämmin ruskea joka kudottuna on hienostuneen meleerattu. Tätä sävyä oli tasan kaksi vyhtiä. Näiden lankojen ihmeellisyys onkin niiden ainutlaatuisuudessa. Sienet ovat kerätty mökkini metsästä.
Langasta syntyi pipo. Lanka on riittoisaa ja riittää toiseenkin. Luomisen iloa yhdistettynä kesän muistoihin! Kiitos Sanski!
